Clinique Paul Niehans

The method

Cell therapy

A biological method developed in Switzerland, aimed at supporting and revitalizing the body, now offered under the name Revitalization cure, in compliance with the current regulatory framework.

What it consists of

A biological therapy

It is based on the supply of cellular extracts, as part of a process to revitalize the body. The preparations used today are cellular dilutions of bovine approved by Swissmedic.

For whom

An individual assessment

Each situation is examined by the doctor during an admission assessment, based on a medical questionnaire. The indication and the protocol are established on a case-by-case basis.

Safety & framework

A supervised protocol

Prior assessment, preparations approved by Swissmedic, daily medical follow-up and single-use equipment: the cure takes place within a strict medical framework.

True to its origin, compliant with today's regulations

For decades, the clinic applied the original cellular therapy of Prof. Paul Niehans: freeze-dried cells from animal origins and ultrafiltrats from sheep. More recently, following a change in the sanitary law, we adapted our treatments: they are now based on cellular dilutions of bovine approved by Swissmedic, the Swiss authority for therapeutic products.

What this means in practice

  • Preparations authorized by the Swiss sanitary authority (Swissmedic)
  • A guarantee of safety and compliance, in the continuity of the method
  • The same spirit of revitalization, now called Revitalization cure

From Alexis Carrel to today

1912

Alexis Carrel

The Nobel prize winner demonstrates the revitalising effect of young cells on cultures of aged cells.

1931

Niehans's discovery

Faced with a critical case, Prof. Niehans performs the first cellular implantation by injection.

1937

Expansion

Stimulated by the neurosurgeon Cushing, Niehans extends the method to other tissues.

1949

Lyophilization

First injections of lyophilized cells (frozen then dried under vacuum), which would give their form to the current preparations.

Today

A supervised tradition

The clinic perpetuates the method with cellular dilutions of bovine approved by Swissmedic, in compliance with Swiss regulations.

An indication always determined by the doctor

Cell therapy has historically been considered in a context of fatigue and loss of vitality related to age. It does not constitute a promise of healing: each situation is assessed individually during an admission assessment, which determines the indication and the protocol.
